What happened with the Transfiguration of Jesus was so spectacular it would be easy to over look three little words. “Listen to Him!” God told the witnesses to listen to Jesus, not Moses or Elijah. Those of us here listen to Jesus. How could we encourage others do the same?

The first disciples of Jesus were fisherman who made their living on the Sea of Galilee. They were not trained speakers or teachers, nor were any of them known to be leaders of others at this point. They were just simple men who made a living fishing.

It’s probably safe to assume that most preachers are not preaching this lesson today, and for good reason. It’s likely to make many of us uncomfortable. However, it seems to be about more than the body. It seems to me to be more about the disposition of the soul within the body.
