Mission Sunday
Mission Sunday 2026 was a great success thanks to everyone. You all helped plan, promote, reach out to the organizations we are supporting, connect to parishioners, take care of the details and hospitality, and be present! As I talked to parishioners yesterday, especially newer members, so many were happy to hear of the breadth of efforts we support. There are so many people in need of help, in our community and all around the world, some in danger of being forgotten. Jesus wants us to help even those we do not know, and may never meet, if it is possible. We do this because Jesus loves them and wants them to know Him. This work can change lives. We not only help those in need, but also those who are reaching out to share the Gospel with those who do not yet know Jesus.
I noticed many sign up to volunteer with these organizations. This is what Jesus had in mind--'YOU give them something to eat.' Get involved. Yes, people have material needs, but what they need more is hope and love. That comes from people like us.
I hope that more of our parishioners knowing the good that we are doing through our outreach ministry influences them in their financial support of the parish. Our parish tithes to outreach ministry based on our annual budget, and October is stewardship month.
I also pray that yesterday's event will encourage more to step forward to help on our Outreach Committee. Many hands make light work. We need help, especially as we bring back the fair.
God bless you and your families! Let's build on the energy from Mission Sunday!
Faithfully,

What is Mission Sunday?
Ever wonder what organizations and missions you support and help throughout our community?
Join us on Mission Sunday and talk with representatives from those organizations.
Representatives from at least thirteen of the nineteen organizations that St. Michael’s currently supports will be joining us in person! They will be at each table to talk informally with parishioners about their organization and help us to better understand the work they are doing in our local community and beyond. This time together will also be a great opportunity for church members to discern if they would like to be personally involved with any of the organizations.
✝️ The organizations not able to be with us in person will still have tables with their materials available for church members to peruse.
🥧 Delicious food is being provided!
🛝 Children’s activities are being offered.
Enjoy friends, fellowship and refreshments between the Sunday Services from 9:00-10:15 AM on September 27.
