Good News! We are now ‘open’ for receiving applications for St. Michael’s new rector!
Our Community Ministry Profile has been posted on the Episcopal Church Office of Transition Ministry portal. We have also shared our open position along with a job description on the Episcopal News Service and the Transition Ministry Conference; both are sites that clergy are likely to see or if they are seeking a new position, they would be checking. We have also placed an ad in the Living Church magazine that will appear in the magazine print and digital editions. In addition to these services, the diocese will be assisting us by sharing our open position across the wider network of the Episcopal Church clergy community. We are very thankful for the support of Bishop Ketlan, Canon Kim, our Vestry and Dana Phillips, a wise and experienced search consultant, who have helped us reach this milestone.
We would also like to invite you to share our open position to clergy or contacts in your Episcopal Church Network. If you know of a priest you think would be an excellent fit for our parish, feel free to send us a name and a contact email and the Discernment Committee would discreetly reach out to them with an invitation to review our profile and discern a call to St. Michael’s.
Our application period will be open from January 9th through February 28th, after which your Discernment Committee will begin the process of reviewing, vetting and sorting the applications we have received. We will continue to keep you posted on our progress!
We know the process takes longer than any of us would like, but this pregnant time is the time for us to reflect and practice patience and have hope. As it says in Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Pray with us and for us: the Discernment Committee, St. Michael’s and that the right minister will discern the call to shepherd St. Michael’s.
Holy Spirit, prepare us to hear and learn, help us to see and do your work, guide us to share your message. Amen!
