Getting Started

Hello fellow parishioners of St. Michael’s of the Valley Episcopal Church. Last month we introduced you to the members of your Discernment Committee, but I’d like to mention them to you again and ask that you remember us in your prayers:

  • Carl Campbell

  • Joanne Copeland

  • Jay Follansbee

  • Ann Hewat

  • Lisa Laskow

  • Joe Moravec

  • Mick Pompelia

  • Cindy Purnell

  • Nancy Rost

  • Andy Scott

  • Jinny Tuscano, committee chair.

We are working closely with the Rev. Canon Kim Karashin, Canon for Transition Ministry for the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

The Discernment Committee’s initial meeting was held on Saturday, September 3, followed by a joint meeting with the Profile Committee on September 14th. The Search Committee was commissioned by the vestry and congregation on Sunday, September 11 at the 10:30AM service.

We humbly embark on this most important task and we ask for your prayers and support throughout the process.
