For more than twenty years St. Michael’s has been filling backpacks for the students of The Neighborhood Academy. This year St. Michael’s is partnering with three urban churches who will help fill the backpacks.
The TNA Backpack Project begins in early July and backpacks are due back on July 27th.
St. Michael’s will be responsible to fill 70 backpacks for students grades 6 – 12.
There are 3 ways that you can help:
Pick up a bag from the Outreach Commission on Sunday July 13th, and fill it with the items listed below. The cost to fill a bag is approximately $30.
Donate something from the list below and bring it to the church office Monday-Friday 9 AM until 1 PM or drop it in the bin inside the Smith House.
If you are unable to shop, an Outreach member will shop for you. Contact the church office by July 11th and send your $30 check payable to St. Michael’s of the Valley. Please mark on the check “TNA Backpack Project”. Attn: Debbie Stouffer, financial secretary, PO Box 336, Ligonier, PA. 15658.
The drop-off box for the supplies will be in the front hall of Smith House.
The young people at The Neighborhood Academy look forward to receiving their backpacks and this is an awesome ministry that we provide to encourage these students to have a successful school year.
