About Woodbridge Preschool
October 2025
The children and their families and the teachers have all had a great beginning to the school year!
At the Open House the parents and children completed a fun scavenger hunt to learn all about the school, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms. Mother Marjorie and Father Jack were part of the scavenger hunt, giving the children glow-in-the-dark cross necklaces and sharing information about St. Michael’s with the families. At the end of the scavenger hunt, the families were treated to ice cream and had their pictures taken in front of a beautiful balloon display, both donated by Board members and parents. They were also welcomed on the first day with fun chalk drawings on the sidewalks, complements of anonymous Wood Bridge supporters!
The September theme was “learning all about me.” They heard the Creation Bible Story and talked about how special they are. In October the children will be exploring “the great outdoors.” The Bible Story will be about Daniel and the Lion’s Den, a great example of the virtue for the month, courage. As part of Fire Prevention Month, the children will learn about fire safety and enjoy a visit from the local firefighters, arriving on a fire truck.

Children ages three to five attend either two, three, or five days weekly. They are taught and cared for by five teachers, including Director Leslie King, who has been with Wood Bridge for 17 years. A typical day in the life of a Wood Bridge preschooler involves gathering and playing, story time, activity centers, small group activities, music, and gross motor activities, including playing outside on the playground as weather permits. Mother Marjorie and Father Jack also visit regularly to share Bible stories and music with the children. September’s focus will be “all about me, my friends, and family” as the children, some for the first time, begin to settle in to preschool.
Special activities with parents are scheduled throughout the year. The Wood Bridge families started this school year with an ice cream social and open house the evening of August 28th, with ice cream treats being provided via an ice cream truck.
As Wood Bridge celebrates its 50th year, the staff and families are grateful for the continued partnership with and generosity of St. Michael’s. If you have any questions or want to see the classrooms, please let me know.
